  1. Casa Bonita Sedona happy hour scam

We were recommended to go to Casa Bonita by the Hampton Inn in Sedona. I looked up the web page for Casa Bonita Arizona and saw an ad for happy hour advertising half price appetizers and $3 margaritas. We went there in time for happy hour and ordered drinks and appetizers as well as dinner. When the bill came, they were billed out full price. The waitress, who spoke with the manager, said they were not honoring the web page advertisement. In the end, they gave us the $3 margaritas but refused to honor the half price appetizer. Will NEVER go there again! This is the classic "bait and switch" marketing approach to lure customers in and then charge more than advertised.

  2. So good....We Ate There AGAIN!

Recently went back for another meal at Fournos... And it was even better! We started with the same warm bread and parmesan pesto dipping sauce... But there were many specials and new menu items. I had the garlic cognac mushrooms &my friend started with an appetizer specials of mussels. We were both groaning!

Entrees I had the fresh farfalle pasta with meatballs. OMG! Chef Ivan Flowers out did himself with this one! My friend ate a chile chocolate beef brisket special.

We shared a wonderful Grenache and a tiramisu (home made of course!)

Next time we go back,we are doing the tasting menus!!!

  3. Delicious Food In Sedona!

Had the pleasure of dining here a couple of weeks ago... New owner Chef Ivan Flowers prepares simply delicious food. The menu is a blend of Mediterranean, italian with a little American thrown in...

Casual, intimate space and great little wine list. We had the lobster bisque, hand-pulled fresh mozarella (OMG!!), osso bucco and Mahi Mahi. All just over the top good.

Drank a nice cabernet and service was friendly and personal. Chef even came by the table...

Started with warm bread and a REALLY good dipping sauce...

Cash and checks only, so visit the atm first.

  4. Closed...Skipped Town

My fiance and I decided back in October to have our rehearsal dinner at Bella Terra. We gave our deposit of $500 and picked out our menu.

We live in Phoenix and in the last 2 weekends have gone up to Sedona twice for various wedding chores. The first weekend we were up there we tried to go have dinner there, but it was closed. We just thought we were there at the wrong time. NOPE! The second weekend (today) we tried again, but it was closed. Since Starbucks is next door, we stopped in to get drinks and ask about Bella Terra.

To make a long story short, we were told the man who managed Bella Terra skipped town leaving the employees and customers high-and-dry. The manager of Pinon Point (the plaza that Bella Terra is located in) works and owns the wine shop there. My fiance talked to him; that man sent us to the Hyatt. The Hyatt supposedly has some sort of contact information for the people who have been wronged by the owner of Bella Terra.

For those of you who might be in the same boat, I'm sorry... we feel your pain.

Mii amo, a Yuman word meaning "to continue one’s path, moving forward, or journey," is a destination spa resort located on the grounds o Enchantment Resort. Located in Boynton Canyon, Sedona, native people considered this spectacular box canyon a "sacred place" that awakened the senses. A vortex lies along Boynton Canyon Trail, adjacent to the spa. Like many Native American pueblos, the 24,000-square-foot, two-level main building is nestled in the natural slope of the canyon wall, maximizing views of the red rock canyon. Simple lines, monumental forms, and pure materials—adobe brick, wood, indigenous stone-- blend organically with the surrounding environment. Natural light and water are recurring themes, and interior and exterior spaces flow into one another, making the building easily adaptable to the seasons. The signature form is a 172-foot-long horizontal spine from which rise 5 adobe brick towers inspired by the cliff dwellings of the Anasazi. Communal areas and pools are on the ground level; treatment rooms are housed on the second floor. The design is at once modern and ancient, representing a modern application of many Anasazi ideas.

Nineteen spacious treatment rooms are located on the second level with chapel-like privacy, and either windows overlooking the canyon or natural light wells. Five outdoor treatment areas, shaded by wooden trellises inspired by Native American "wikiups," provide secluded, hillside shelter for outdoor massage, meditation and Watsu therapy. Guests choose from three-, four- and seven-night programs, inclusive of luxury accommodation, daily meals at Mii amo Café, spa treatments, private consultation, fitness classes, lectures, and use of spa facilities.

Full- 60- and 90-minute treatments include massage, Reiki, Cranial Sacral, hydrotherapy baths, body treatments, Watsu, Ayurvedic treatments, facials and nail care services. Specially trained therapists provide a number of restorative therapies using Mii amo signature blends of oils and lotions, natural ingredients and Native American traditional practices.

Ongoing fitness classes include Chinese Rejuvenation, Vortex walk, Qigong, aqua aerobics, yoga and Pilates. Other activities include mountain biking, stargazing, Journey of Tea, cooking classes, guest lectures, guided meditation and specialty services such as Native American Talk Circle.

  6. Locals Are Talkin'

The locals are talkin' about the Javelina Cantina. I just ran into JB at Sam's Club in Flagstaff yesterday. He says Javelina Cantina is the best Mexican for miles around. "My father was a chef, so I am PICKY," admitted the owner of DataSoft Computers in Flagstaff.

Javelina Cantina is where I am headed the next time I'm in Sedona.

  8. Oaxaca Restaurant

Would highly recommend requesting the outside seating area. You have a fantastic view of Sedona's main street and Snoopy Rock. I always enjoy the Huevos Rancheros for lunch. I prefer to eat lunch here versus dinner because we always enjoy the view so much.

  9. Maverick Helicopters.... complete rip off!!!

We paid US$109 & boarded the helicopter with excited anticipation of great views of the Las Vegas strip. We couldn't have landed more disappointed. The pilot flew a left hand pattern up & down the strip. Sitting at the rear right hand side of the helicopter, my friend & I saw absolutely nothing! We complained to the manager but his only solution was for us to take the flight again sitting on the left side of the helicopter, but we would have to pay again! A complete rip off.

  10. Great Sedona B&B

A really unique place. Relax and get rejuvenated by all the vortex sites right on their property. Breakfast each morning was different and delicious. Rooms were bigger than they looked on the web site, so we were very surprised. It's usually the other way around.

    Great experience, much recommended.
