  1. Pasta Packets A Must

This restaurant is now called Il Terrazzo and offers a new Italian menu. Enjoyed the outside patio last night for dinner. Great weather, but not much of a view. However, food was excellent so who cares about the view! :)

Our waiter made some great suggestions, including the strawberry/goat cheese salad and these pasta packets with a brown sage butter, corn, mascarpone cheese, etc. There were only 5 on a plate, but it was actually the perfect portion size since these were pretty rich, but so good. Almost like having a dessert to start off the meal! Definitely our favorite item of the night. Peach belinis also were good, but couldn't tell the difference between the regular peach and the luxury peach (slightly different alcohol used). For entrees, my husband and I both got the black angus rib cap, which was perfectly cooked, well seasoned and extremely flavorful. Would definitely get this again, but could of passed on the black squid gnocchi that came with. For dessert, we tried the hazelnut chocolate mousse, which was great. We also had a plate of Italian dessert cookies. Almond cookies were good, but more surprisingly was how wonderful the pine nut cookies were. Who knew?!

This was The Phoenician, so service was excellent as well.

  2. What a fun place for you and your child!

This park is really neat!!! It has a couple of different play areas with swings, slides and such for your young child to play with. It also has a very cool train that goes around the entire park, and a carousel for the kids to go on over and over again. It is really awesome during the holidays when you can go at night and it is all lit up during the train ride. The only thing i can say is that it is better for younger children such as toddlers up to about 6 or 7 years old. However, during the holidays, i think anyone of any age will enjoy it.

  3. memorable dining experience

we tried Atlas based off a reccomendation of a waiter at dinner the previous night. it was called a local secret. Bring your own wine and fine dine. we did just that. we opted for the chefs' tasting menu and were bestowed culinary achievement. fresh ingredients, classic and innovative preperations and a love affair for food and wine was apparent. if you need to eat in the best place in town when going out try atlas bistro and you will be rewarded

  4. Awesome Pizza, Great Vibe, Long Wait

Oreganos has arguably the best pizza in Phx/Scottsdale....pan style is my personal favorite, but the wife loves their thin crust. Went there for my wifes B-Day last month. Service is friendly. Only drawback is there is no reservations accepted and pan style pizzas take about an hour to cook. So be prepared to wait...that being said, probably not the best place to take kids as they probably won't have the patience.

  5. Mastro's City Hall - The Ultimate Steak House

If you are looking for the best steak, service, ambiance in Scottsdale, Mastro's City Hall is the place! Great place for special occasions or to wow a client. Is certainly at the high end of the price spectrum but worth every penny. Try the Lobster Mashed Potatoes...and all of their Steaks are great! They also have fish, poultry too for non-steak eaters.
    Highly recommend!!!!

  6. Fits Like Your Favorite Saddle!

This famous spot, which mostly appeals to tourists, like me, was recently purchased for an AMAZING $700k per acre, and will be developed. It is supposed to close in March 2009, so if you haven't been there for awhile, or maybe never tried it, take a drive to North Scottsdale soon. Whether you eat inside or out, be sure to try one of their famous microbrews, and be sure to look at the many ties hanging from the ceiling, and stop at the gift shop.

  7. Lunch at Sauce Pizza & Wine

Three of my colleagues and myself ate lunch at Sauce today. It was my first trip and it was very pleasurable. I had the Turkey sandwich. The meat and bread were both very fresh and very filling. With an iced tea, the total was just under $9. I'm excited to go back and try the pizza.

  8. Scrumptious Food in a nice area

We got a gift certificate for this restaurant and decided to try it out. I am so glad that we did. The food was amazing, the service was wonderful and even though it is a little pricey, it was very much worth it. I suggest going here in the evening for dinner any day of the week. We will definitely be dining here again

  9. Lunch at Oreganos

The pizza by the slice at lunch is huge. One slice filled me up. The thin crust style is awesome. And the price ($2.49) for a slice is ridiculously cheap. Parking and wait times may be a hassle. Also, the waiter was distracted and sub-par.

  10. You should experience the Orange Tree this year

This place has something for everyone, but for me, it has everything I need, and that's why I keep returning. The Orange Tree is near routes AZ-51, AZ-101, as well as Scottsdale Road. Though it is in a residential area, there are many stores, restaurants, businesses and tourist attractions nearby. Yet, their well-manicured grounds are quiet and secluded. The staff is very friendly, and there are two restaurants and two bars, one bar is poolside, but the room service is great too. For those who have never been to the area, there is a full-time concierge who is very experienced and attentive. It is a popular place for golf, and also has golf lessons for people like me. The suites, which include a kitchenette, have just been remodeled (2008), and the bathrooms are spacious with a 2-person tub. I would recommend the Orange Tree for seasoned timeshare travelers, like me, or for first-timers.
