Great views and very relaxed
Huge windows overlook the beautiful pine covered grounds. Named after huge tree with stained glass leaves that sits in the middle of the bar.
Get a table by the window, order some appetizers and a nice bottle of wine and simply relax. Service is always friendly and ffod is simple but good. Love the Rueben!During Holiday season enjoy all the lights.

Beautiful in the winter!
I stayed here a month ago in a forest view room... The room was okay, but the grounds are very nice. I also, very much liked the lounge. If you are planning to stay or visit Flagstaff during the winter months, this is a very beautiful property... Snow covered pines, large fireplace in lobby, rustic bar with windows that look out over the grounds.
Best time is during holiday season. A million lights on all the trees!

Caution! This place has changed!
A few years ago, I used to dine at Jackson's Grill with my parents. We considered it our special occasion restuarant...
So, just a month ago went there for dinner on my wedding night and was I shocked to see it now!
It went from a white tablecloth, superior food & wine establishment to a sports bar!
We were sat in a corner and ignored. My salad was BROWN with rust and my husband's ahi was inedible. Our main courses wern't any better... Dry, pork and a so-so pizza. Appetizer plates stayed on table during ENTIRE dinner. Felt so bad after raving about this place to my husband...
We are now making reservations for our month anniversary to have a "make-up" wedding dinner.
Very sad to see this happen to what was once such a great place to eat.- 0 people found this review helpful

What a great place!
My husband and I were in Flagstaff recently and found ourselves without any dinner plans. For some reason, he asked if there was a German restaurant in Flagstaff, and thanks to Google, we found the Matterhorn Grill!
WHAT FABULOUS FOOD! Authentic red cabbage (which I now crave constantly!), wonderful spaetzle, mouthwatering rouladen (a personal favorite which I can never find outside of Germany!)...the list goes on and on. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable and fun, and the owners are gracious and charming.
We're headed back up the hill tonight with a friend from Los Angeles! I can't wait to struggle again with my menu selection, because everything is so delightful.
Awesome restaurant!

Beaver Street Brewery
We always make a stop for dinner at the Beaver Street Brewery after a day of sledding or skiing in Flagstaff. We love the atmosphere and the great service. The burgers are huge and delicious! It's a great place to bring kids too because it is usually busy with a lot of activity.

Amazing dining experience!
This is the only restaurant downtown that has its own parking. We showed up and were formally greeted by the owner holding a sample of German Gluehwein (mulled wine) which set the tone for the whole evening (it was cold out that night!) Servers were knowledgable and polite, and explained the specials while suggesting the proper wines to accentuate the food. Salad was crisp with homemade dressing. I had the Jagerschnitzel and it was great! The mushroom sauce was rich and complimented the spatzle (German homemade pasta). It also came with a sweet/sour red cabbage. For desert I had authentic Black Forest Cake, this also looked to be homemade with a hint of Cherry Brandy? Overall an amazing dining experience, I can't wait to come back and listen to the live German music on every second Friday of the month! FIVE STARS!!!

All Awards
All Awards is the most comprehensive award shop, and who would have thought that it would be in little old Flag? You'll make the recipient of one of their awards feel really special. They have the regular sports and recognition plaques & trophies - but they also do specialized pieces for really special events. The past few years, they have created awards for Route 66 Days - even managing to personalize each award - before the ceremonies! It's amazing. They also have personalized gifts, etched glasses, you name it. If you can't make it to Flag, you can still build your own award from their website. This is a locally owned business that's been around for over 30 years, and you'll receive service that goes above and beyond from the owner and her staff.

About Memories & More
This is the greatest scrapbook store ever! I go in there and get so motivated to start a new project or finish an old one...They have seasonal stuff, fun stuff and just tons of stuff to create the best cards, scrapbooks, and just projects! They have classes, and teach you how to do all the things you see and always wanted to know how to do. They also have a blog, which I added here as their website address - go and take a look, and when you come to Flag - make sure you stop in this great locally owned shop.

Downtown Flagstaff
Downtown Flagstaff is AMAZING! If you come to Flag, don't miss it. There are charming historical buildings, historic hotels & hostels, absolutely great restaurants, eclectic and interesting shopping...and tons of events all year long that will catch your interest. I listed the Downtown Business Alliance website address here, because they host some of the events (like Movies on the Square, every Friday through the summer on Heritage Square) and you can get information there. They also do the New Year's Eve Block party in conjunction with the Pine Cone Drop at the Weatherford Hotel. I am downtown a few times a week, and I really love the great, friendly atmosphere and the cool culture. You MUST go downtown, and soak in some real Flagstaff vibes.
