  1. Great afternoon activity!

My family and I went on the Dolly Steamboat on Sunday, February 8th. We did the 1pm, 90 minute boat ride. This was a perfect activity for the entire family. It was a rainy, cold day and being inside the heated cabin, sipping on hot chocolate and eatting freshly popped pop corn was a treat! This is a great activity for the entire family (rain or shine). The vistas of Canyon Lake are breathtaking. The ride is smooth and you're free to roam the boat during the cruise. It's mandatory that kids under 12 wear life preservers. There is a snack bar available during the cruise. We had 5 hot chocolates, 1 coffee and 2 bags of popcorn and it was only $8. Great deal!

  2. Desert hikes

This state park is named after a lost gold mine that I Jacob Waltz ("the Dutchman") claimed to have rediscovered in the 1870s. After hi death many tried to located the mine - without success.

Today this state park overs a campground and hiking trails that range between 1 and 6 miles. In summer it gets over 100 F, never hike without taking enough water for everybody.
