A warm and friendly setting featuring Italian food with an emphasis on flavor and freshness. Also, a wine list that is unmatched in Portland.
On our recent bike trip to Sellwood we were looking for Italian food and found it just a few blocks from the end of the Springwater Bike Corridor.
The restaurant is located on the corner of SE Spokane and SE 13th Ave. Don't be confused by the old sign saying Leipzig Tavern that is the bar connected to Gino's.
Service was super friendly and fast. We managed to get outside seating on this warm day.
The menu fits on one page but offers wonderful italian meat and seafood choices. There are also a few veg. items if you are not into the whole meat thing.
We had Seafood Stew Pasta which got two thumbs up from my wife. The Italian Sausage pasta was equally great. Portions are large, served with toasted italian bread.
The wine menu is extensive offering several dozen choices. Gino's serves Trumer Pils on tap which is always a treat if you are a Pilsner lover.
All in all a great dining experience. Be prepared to spend at least $50 for a party of two without wine.
