Named after the fabled lost gold mine, this park is located in the Sonoran Desert at 2000 feet elevation. The park features a variety of hiking trails, nature trails, campsites, picnic facilities and special programs throughout the year.
This state park is named after a lost gold mine that I Jacob Waltz ("the Dutchman") claimed to have rediscovered in the 1870s. After hi death many tried to located the mine - without success.
Today this state park overs a campground and hiking trails that range between 1 and 6 miles. In summer it gets over 100 F, never hike without taking enough water for everybody.
