  1. Canyon oasis

After making it down Fish Creek Hill - a nerve-wrecking adventure of hair-pins on a narrow gravel road (2 cars can barely squeeze by each other) that offers great views- you reach Fish Creek Canyon. The canyon has a stream that runs most of the year. A 8.2 mile / 7 hour hike leads into the canyon which is up to 1000 feet deep. In the shadow of the canyon the landscape is very different that in the desert around it. The hike is rated moderately difficult but make sure the bring sturdy shoes and plenty of fluids. Spring is the best time but be careful of floods after heavy rain.
