If you are like me and do not believe that a meal counts unless it includes some sort of delicious meat preferably beef or pork then this will be your paradise.
Podnah's Pit (pronounced just like it's spelled, like Howdy Podnah) is an unassuming NE Portland delight. The first time I went there I returned the very next day because I had to share the secret that I had discovered the day before. While it's hardly a secret anymore, Food Network's Diners, Drive-in and Dives featured this favorite and basically secured that fact that there will always be a line. No worries-- it's worth it.
Within my household the debate rages on whether the brisket or the pulled pork is better, but either way you won't be disappointed. My advice would be to order a combo plate and judge for yourself.
One more bit of advice-- get there early because their chalk board is a sign of sold out items that will haunt an empty stomach.

Great little BBQ joint! The food was delicous and the service was very nice. We tried the pulled pork, brisket, lamb spareribs, slaw and collard greens. Everything was wonderful, the best brisket and pulled pork in town!
