Great hiking with kids!

My daughter did the Take A Hike Arizona, LLC kids hike and loved it! The instructors were great. Very organized and planned fun, interesting & age appropriate activities for the kids. They provided everything, had food, drinks, arts & crafts, games, & a book they could take home with valuable desert information. They also provided each child with a camera to take their own pictures on their hike which was a great idea & my daughter loved it! It was very cost effective as well for the time and all that was included. She will definitely go on another hike with Take A Hike Arizona! Tracey and June were wonderful!

Great Hiking with Kids!

What a refreshing change to find a company that made hiking fun for the whole family! We decided to try a guided hiking tour so that we could learn about the Sonoran Desert while experiencing it. Take A Hike Arizona has hikes for all abilities, so even though we had small children with us (ages 6 and 8), we had quite a few tours to choose from. The tour guides were VERY knowledgeable and helped us choose a hike that suited us perfectly. They had Desert Bingo for the kids which kept them looking for all different things in the desert - needless to say they learned quite a bit while having a blast - and so did my husband and I! I loved that the guide also had books (children's and other selections) and we purchased a few as a momentium of our tour. We talk about our experiences every time we read our books!

The tour we took was the McDowells, and we have since gone on the South Mountain trail for a sunset hike which I would also recommend. We had an incredibel experience since there was a light rain and we saw a beautiful double rainbow over the mountain. It was amazing. The terrain on this hike changes quite a bit along the trail, you leave all civilization behind at the top of the first rise, and there is a rock tunnel that is really neat. It is an amazing experience. There is so much to see and the tourguides don't let you miss a thing. Just ask them, and they will give you a wealth of experience about your surroundings - they also gave us some excellent suggestions for dining and sightseeing. Oh, I should also mention that this company offers snacks that went above and beyond any other company we researched and they were delicious! Thank you Take A Hike Arizona! We will definitely be visiting you again!!

The Half Day Hikes are the Best!

I've lived in Scottsdale for almost 5 years, and have lived in Arizona for over 14 years, yet this hiking company took me on some of the best half day hikes I've ever been on. I liked that fact that the hikes were recommended based on my ability, and I loved how they pointed out flora and fauna along the way. I even saw a desert tortoise on one of our hikes....cool! I would recommend this to people coming in from out of town, and would also recommend it for those of us who live in AZ. I had no idea there were so many great trails around, and hiking with this company made it fun and interesting.
