A great place for art lovers
The Phoenix Art Museum has a wonderful, diverse collection that is nicely displayed. Particular strengths are American and European 20th century art and Asian art. You'll see Odilon Redon, Georgia O'Keefe, Monet, Gilbert Stuart, and more.
One unique collection contains 20 miniature rooms from the 1933 Chicago world expo. These period spaces are reproduced in perfect detail, giving windows into many times and places.
The museum also offers excellent temporary exhibits. During my visit, there were Richard Avedon photographs, some excellent contemporary works, and a graffiti covered fashion show. I had a great time.
