The Cocker: Very tastefully restored guesthouse in Buenos Aires
The cocker is a guesthouse in 'San Telmo' - the historical district of Buenos Aires. They have 5 guestrooms - all decorated very individually and tastefully. The atmosphere among the guests is very personal. Every day at 6:30pm they meet on the terrace on the roof of the house to enjoy a glass of wine together and chat about their experiences and exchange tips. Breakfast is included in the price and there is also wireless internet in the rooms.

La Cabrera: La cabrera - Argentinean 'parilla': must visit
This is the place to eat meat in Buenos Aires! There are in fact 2 restaraunts: La Cabrera and La Cabrera norte which belong together and are located on the same street. Both have the same menu, etc. so simply go to the one where you get seated first. People will tell you that you need a reservation, but if you don't mind waiting for approx. 30 minutes you can easily go without having one even on a Saturday night as we did. The (free!!!) champagne and peanuts will make the waiting time fly by... I would recommend not to order to many appertizers, as the main courses are huge and delicious and come with all sorts of little sides dishes (such as potato salad, caramelized onions, etc. etc.) You will be completely FULL when you walk out of this restaurant, but it's just irresistable! Again I would recommend getting the lomo or lomito - it's simply the best part!

Sheraton Iguazú - Resort & Spa: Top location for visiting Iguazú falls
The Sheraton Resort & Spa is the only hotel that is located inside the Iguazú National Park. You are in walking distance of the falls and all attractions. No need to take a crowded tourist bus in the morning...you simply walk and you are right there! (Before the huge crowd arrives...) The hotel itself is nice. Try to get a room with view on the falls. They are slightly more expensive, but it's definitely worth it. The pool and spa area is especially nice!

Alcorta Carnes: Best meat in Cordoba
At Alcorta Carnes you get the best meat in Cordoba! The portions are big and the food is great! Get the 'lomo' (=filet) - it's excellent! The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming! This should be definitely a restaurant you visit during your stay in Cordoba!

NH Panorama Hotel: Convienent hotel in the city center of Cordoba
This NH hotel is located very conviently in walking distance of the city center of Cordoba. The rooms are nice and clean. Nothing spectacular, but overall a very good deal. The lobby and restaurant (where e.g. breakfast is served) are newly renovated. The hotel also offers offers free parking. There are several NH hotels in Cordoba - this one is the 'Panorama' hotel. It's a slightly more expensive, but A LOT nicer than the 'Urbana' hotel a few blocks further down the streets.

Hotel el Aguamiel: Beautiful boutique hotel outside Mendoza, Argentina
Beautiful boutique hotel outside Mendoza. It only opened in 2007 thus everything is brand new and modern. The house is build in an old warehouse-style which gives it a very special look. They only have 8 rooms all offering a great view of the Andes and the surrounding vineyards. Breakfast is included. Likewise you can have dinner there if you tell them one day in advance. Apparently they have a great chef, but we never tried it ourselves.

Como agua para chocolate: Good restaurant in Santiago
Como agua para chocolate is a restaurant located in the Bellavista quarter of Santiago. The food is good, but not spectacular. The interior, however, is very nice and colorful. If you are lucky you might get to sit at one of the most extra-ordinary tables you have ever seen: made out of an old bed.

Hotel del Patio: Nice little hotel in Santiago - great location, good prices
The 'Hotel del Patio' is a small hotel located in one of Santiago's hippest neighbourhoods 'Bellavista' where you'll find lots of cafés, bars and restaurants all in walking distance. The rooms are decorated very nicely. The hotel has a great terrace overlooking the so-called 'patio' (i.e. the center of Bellavista) and offers a great view of the Andes. On the 'downside' it can be rather noisy at night as there are many people out on the street. Best thing is to join them! :-) Overall a very good deal, I would say!

Heimat: Very good restaurant in Frankfurt
"Heimat" is a small, but selected new restaurant in Frankfurt. It is located in the city center close to the financial district. The menue is rather short, yet, the food is delicious. They also have a great and long wine list, which they are known for. The staff is extremely friendly and has a high service orientation. It's an excellent place for a dinner with business partners, but also for a special occasion with friends.

Chalet Multilounge: Warm and welcoming atmosphere in the "chalet multilounge" in Frankfurt
This place just opened recently in one of Frankfurt's hippest upcoming areas, the so-called "West Harbour". It combines the atmosphere of an Alpine ski hut with new, mordern architecure. The interior is super comfortable with a open fire place and lounge-like couches with furs. You can chose whether you prefer to sit on a real table or rather lie down on one of the sofas. In summer you can sit outside right on the Main riversite. The menue ranges from Swiss cheese fundue and "cheese raclette" to various snacks and salads.
