    The Bird Cage Theatre is the most important historic attraction in Tombstone, AZ together with the O.K. Corral. Because the Bird Cage remained abandoned and untouched for decades, it is probably the most authentic building in Tombstone. The Bird Cage was a combination saloon, theatre, and casino and had a wild reputation, even for Tombstone. Its name come from the small boxes that lined the theatre where patrons could close the curtains and be specially entertained by the saloon girls. It was inspiration the for the song "She was only a bird in a guilded cage." Many famous entertainers such as Eddie Foy played here, and the audience included Tombstone's notables such as Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and Bat Masterson.

  • O.K. Corral®: O.K. Corral

    The O.K. Corral consists of the actual site where the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral began in October 26, 1881 involving Wyatt, Morgan and Virgil Earp, and Doc Holliday versus the Clantons and the McLaurys. The Gunfight took place next to C.S. Fly's Photo Gallery where Doc Holliday was living, and where about 100 photos of 1880s Tombstone are exhibited along with Fly's photos of the Apache Geronimo. The site also has a display of the history of the Corral, and an exhibit of prostitution in Tombstone in the 1880s when it was legal. Your ticket also includes seeing the 25 minute long Historama in which Vincent Price narrates the history of Tombstone, and a copy of the 1881 Tombstone Epitaph with the original reports of the Gunfight. For a little extra, you can also see a reenactment of the Gunfight. The afternoon show is aimed at kids, the 5pm show is more for adults. It can get hot in Tombstone in the summer, so plan accordingly.
