Kartchner Caverns State Park®: Cool underground tours
So, if you're looking for a really amazing geologic phenomenon, you should check out Kartchner Caverns. In Aug. & Sept. 2008, they're offering discounts (40 percent, I think) on admission. The Rotunda tour is really cool. People who won't go in caves because they say they're claustrophobic may not have trouble in here (it depends onthe person). My mom went in and was fine. There's one point where you're in a room that could seem a bit close, but for most of the tour, you go thru high ceiling rooms and there's plenty of room and air. It's a living cave, which means it's still being formed. Water drips down thru the ground to form stalactites and stalagmites. They have these "soda straws" that are "baby" geologic formations. See this cave! It's cool!

Sunglow Ranch: Laid back luxury
Each of the rooms at this place has a hand painted mural. It's a really beautiful place that's away from it all. If you're going away to be near lots of people, this may not be the place for you. If you're going away to get away from traffic, noise, TV, stress, this is a great place. The Chiricahua National Monument is nearby and the Chiricahua Mountains are right outside the door. You can even hike in these mountains after just a short stroll from your room. They have a little lake/pond on the property. When my boyfriend and I first visited, Susan, the manager let us take a canoe out for a little spin. Way cool. The food is also spectacular. As of the end of August 2008, they will start serving as much local food as possible and will serve organic and natural. They're a member of the Green Restaurant Association.
